An active Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIP Cell) is functioning in the College. This cell provides a platform for students and faculty members to establish closer links with industries. It helps students to mould as per industry expectations. This enables students to be aware of the lacunae in their skills and provides an opportunity to upgrade them. It also enables Faculty to be aware of industry expectations & train students to meet these expectations. I assure all my students and parent the most creative and conducive-environment required for transformation of a student into an all-round ‘Engineering Professional’ which will empower him to face the challenges of the professional world.

The aim of IIP Cell is to join the hands considering all the Stakeholders such as; Institutions, Industry, Students and Society so that they will stand to gain as it can be a win-win partnership. The continuous outcome of this partnership in terms of all the Stakeholders benefits is: The students get an opportunity to upgrade them by gaining the knowledge, hands-on training, beyond their regular curriculum. It also enables faculty to meet the global challenges, industry expectations and to nurture the students through effective teaching learning processes. The industry gets assistance of dynamic student force as well as guidance of expert faculties in R&D and for solving their complex problems. The Industry stands to gain the skilled manpower as per its requirement. The institute recognizes as center of excellence by providing quality technical education and a source of industry finished manpower for employment also research and consultancy generates the revenue for the institute; society stands to gain by way of improved quality of goods and services.

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIP Cell) of Dr. D Y Patil Institute of Engineering Management and Research (DYPIEMR) Akurdi, Pune provides a platform to the Institute, DYPIEMR and the industries in Pune region. The aim of this platform is to join the hands considering all the Stakeholders such as; Institutions, Industry, Students and Society stand to gain as it can be a win-win partnership. The continuous outcome of this partnership in terms of all the Stakeholders benefits is: Students and faculty members to be aware of industry expectations of skill sets required for the students. The students understand the lacunae in their skills and provide an opportunity to upgrade them by gaining the knowledge, hands-on training, beyond their regular curriculum. It also enables faculty to meet the global challenges, industry expectations and to nurture the students through effective teaching learning processes. The industry gets assistance of dynamic student force as well as guidance of expert faculties in R&D and for solving their complex problems. Infrastructure

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell is located on ground floor with the office of Training & Placement Department. The total floor space available is about 100 sq. m. which include a meeting room with seating capacity of about 40 persons. Facilities like LCD projector, white board and internet are available with the Cell.

Objectives of Industry Institute partnership Cell (IIP Cell)

  • To enrich students by providing training and internship
  • To bridge the gap between Institute and Industry by arranging industrial visits
  • To create awareness of technological changes by providing Industry Projects
  • To improve capabilities of students to become an Entrepreneur
  • To involve industry to achieve ‘Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) for the benefit of all stakeholders and accelerate research

The IIP Cell has been reconstituted recently in May 2018  (earlier called as Industry Institute Interaction Cell) incorporating faculty-in-Charge, one faculty member from each department and Principal to guide and advise for the smooth functioning of the cell. The composition of the cell is as follows-

n line with the stated aim and objectives, the institute has decided to join the hands with Industry. The partnership would build up for mutual benefits when a strategic relationship is developed among the two parties. The ultimate aim of this partnership will be the creation of confidence in industry by the institute which would result industries involving voluntarily the institute at various stages of its development.

The development of such strategic relationship, following thrust areas have been identified which require immediate attention for most of the areas and action over the period of time to few critical areas:

  • Enhancing Teaching Learning Process
  • Exchange of Experts between the Institute and Industry
  • Involvement of Teaching Staff in Industry
  • Institute to gain Confidence of Industry
  • Institute as a Consultant in R&D
