Water Supply Engineering site visit for TE students, Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR was conducted at Water Treatment Plant Nigdi , Pune to show the detailing of process of Water Treatment Plant on 28th September 2024
On the occasion of Engineer's day and Teachers Day on 20th September 2024, Civil Engineering Students Association[CESA], Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR celebrated Engineer's day and Teachers day 
 
A Guest lecture was arranged by Civil Engineering Students Association [CESA], Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR, on "Concrete Mix Design used in Industry " on 26/08/2024 by Mr. Ajaynder Singh Mayal ,State Technical Head for India Cements Ltd. in Maharashtra. Session will help students to Understand Concrete Mix Design Procedure used in Civil Engineering Work.
   
A Guest lecture was arranged by Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR, Akurdi for Third and Final Year students on "Carrier Guidance for civil Engineering on GRE Toefl studies in abroad" on 22/07/2024 by Mr. Bhoopendra singh , ETS India.
Induction Program for SE students, (A.Y. 2024-25) was organized by Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR on 18 July 2024.The main AIM of program is to inform students about Internships, Seminars, Opportunities in extracurricular activities through various clubs available in our department, Research Projects, Training and Placement Assistance and Training.

The National Education Policy 2020 was released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on July 29th, 2020. On the successful completion of the three years of implementation of NEP 2020, 24th to 29th July 2023 is being celebrated as the National Education Policy Week”. To celebrate the same, as an awareness program,Department of Civil Engineering, DYPIEMR, Akurdi, has organized Essay Competition on the topics related to NEP 2020. These competition have given insights to the students on various opportunities from the new education policy NEP 2020.

    

    

Induction Program for TE students, (A.Y. 2023-24) was organized by Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR on 28 July 2023. The main AIM of program was to inform students about TE environment, Honours course, Seminar, Opportunities in extracurricular activities through various clubs available in our institute, Research Projects, Training and Placement Assistance and Training, to acquaint with the various activities held during the academic year.

Dr. P.P Revankar Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering, KLE Technological University, Hubballi and Mr. Nikhil Gor ICT Mumbai graced the occasion. The key objectives of the FDP are
1. To create awareness about the energy generation and energy management methodologies.
2. To get an idea about various techniques available in industries for sustainable energy management.
3. To acquire the knowledge about advanced research in the area of sustainable energy management.


      

   
   

Mr. Shubham Chandgude, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR attended the Round Table Conference on "Industry and Academia Collaboration in the Construction Sector" which was arranged by CREDAI Pune Metro on 30th June, 2023. He also put forth some important questions and issues of students related to academic and industry balance in the conference. These issues were later on addressed by the members of CREDAI.

      

Site visit was conducted on 24 May 2023 for BE Civil Engineering Students under QSCT Subject to get real life experience about Bar bending schedule.

DRCS second visit conducted at Om Paradise a project by Sonigara builders at Kiwale, Pune on 17/05/2023 for third year student to show the detailing of reinforcement of slab and beam.

Vikas Ramgude , Chief Engineer, PWD, Government of Maharashtra on 27th April 2023, which was arranged by Civil Department of PCCOE college in association with IGS Pune chapter.

Parent Teacher Meeting of A. Y. 2022 -2023 SEM II was conducted on 20 April 2023 at Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR, Akurdi.
Meeting was conducted in online mode to encourage students to improve their behavior and academic performance and extra curricular skills.

  
Parent Teacher Meeting of A. Y. 2022 -2023 SEM I was conducted on 24 September 2022 at Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR, Akurdi.
Meeting was conducted in both online as well as offline mode to increase the communication or contact with the parents.
  
Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR arranged a site visit to the underground sections of Pune Metro construction for TE and SE students of civil engineering on 16 september 2022.
A detailed information was given to the students about constructing a metro station Underground at civil court, shivajinagar metro station. This knowledge will be surely helpful for the students who are aspiring to work in metro sector.
    

    

On occasion of Engineers Day 15 September 2022, Guest lecture on metro construction was arranged by Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR for the students of third year.


Metro rail projects provide larger economic and social benefits to the society in terms of reduction in cost and time of travel, substantial reduction in per capita pollution emissions resulting in reduction in chronic diseases, reduction in road accidents, bringing down noise pollution.
Civil Engineering Department of DYPIEMR arranged 'Metro Samvad and an Educational Tour' of the Pune Metro at the under ground sections for all the students of civil engineering department.
Also students had experienced metro ride from PCMC to Phugewadi.

World Water Day is observed every year on 22 March around the world. It is celebrated to highlight the importance of freshwater and to spread awareness about it.
Environmental Club of Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR, Akurdi, has celebrated World Water Day 2022 by organizing the River Cleaning Drive for Pawana River Patch in Ravet, Pune.
Total 100 students have participated in the drive.

The drive has been supported by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Students of Civil Engineering Department had visited ISRO, BARC and IMD Projects Exhibition at VJIT, Mumbai on 28th December 2019.
The students got insight about Role of Engineers in field of Space , Agriculture and Climate condition. Interesting Projects with scale model of well known Chandrayan 1 and 2, Vikram were displayed. Students also interacted with the ISRO official to clear their doubts.

There were  total Five team named as 1.Earth, 2.Water, 3.Wind, 4.Sky, 5.Fire and each team were having 4 participent 2 from SE and 2 from TE. This event was judged by the HOD of CIVIL Dept. Mrs. Amruta Kulkarni. The winner of the technical event was Fire team.

GEOLOGY VISIT TO CENTRAL WATER POWER RESEARCH STATION, PUNE

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

As per the curriculum of Second Year Civil by University of Pune site visits are to be conducted under the subject Engineering Geology. Following are the details regarding the site visit of Second Year Students from civil engineering department.
Students visited to site under the guidance of Mr. Rangnath Sir, CWPRS, Pune. Mr Tambe, Visit assisting officer, CWPRS, Pune has assisted students for each and every spot on site.
During site visit, student studied following details in technically and practically which are also included in syllabus of “Engineering Geology” subject.  

Students have visited three major models at CWPRS as follows:
1.Vishakhapattanam Port model
2.Yamuna River Model
3.Current meter calibrator

Purpose behind visiting these models is to make students understand the Geo morphological aspects visually and its effect on the Civil Structures. How to consider the geological aspects and what are the advantage and disadvantages of it are present. How to tackle with the natural problems and how to in cash the natural advantages related to geology in Civil Engineering is been explained very well by Geotechnical Engineers at sites. Like If the Port construction has to do in a particular site what are the geological aspects have to consider starts from sediments intake, wave action, wave energy, and weather the site was depositional etc is explained very well.

As Geology being the field science, the study tour was organized for the Second year engineering students. A civil engineer always deals with rocks same as geologist. So it’s quite essential for students to understand the basic rock types, their formation process, their field relationships and last but not the least their ecological importance. 
In order to achieve above mentioned goals and also to satisfy the need of the syllabus, one day study tour was organized by the civil department to “TAMHINI GHAT SECTION AND SHIKADI BEACH” on 14th   March 2015(Saturday).

The primary objectives of the field visit was 
a) Introduction to Deccan Volcanic Province
b) Introduction to Basalt and its types in the field
c) Physical volcanology.
d) To study the Beach profile, understand the concept of sediment.
