The Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) aims at promoting co-operation amongst engineers and scientists for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of Soil MechanicsFoundation Engineering, Soil Dynamics, Engineering GeologyRock Mechanics, Snow and Ice Mechanics and allied fields and their practical applications. It provides a common forum for academicians, research workers, designers, construction engineers, equipment manufacturers and others interested in geotechnical activity.

IGS TEAM 2023-24

On the occasion of Engineer's day on 15th September 2023, under IGS Students Chapter, Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR has arranged "BRIDGE IT" competition.
By participating in the Bridge making Competition students get a flavor of what it is to be an Engineer, designing structures to a set of specifications and then seeing them perform their function.

       

       
 
Metro rail projects provide larger economic and social benefits to the society in terms of reduction in cost and time of travel, substantial reduction in per capita pollution emissions resulting in reduction in chronic diseases, reduction in road accidents, bringing down noise pollution.
Civil Engineering Department of DYPIEMR arranged 'Metro Savvad and an Educational Tour' of the Pune Metro at the under ground sections for all the students of civil engineering department under Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Students Chapter.
Also students had experienced metro ride from PCMC to Phugewadi.

Under Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Students Chapter, Students of Civil Engineering Department, DYPIEMR attended Bharatratna M. Vishveshwarya 5th IGS Pune Annul Oration "GEOTECHNICAL AND FOUNDATION CHALLENGES FOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS" on Saturday, 3 September 2022.
